PROCRASTINATION
Procrasting is something that everyone does. Even the most brillant people in the world procrastinate. If you are at ease of an high-stress lifestyle, procrastination can be sepecially dangerous for you. The line of " Why do today, what I can put of for tommorrow?" Must be familiar to you. You live in a total continous panic until something finally explodes.
ESCAPE
When you reach the limit of your ability to cope with the world around you. the absolute edge of what you can handle. You've done the best you can to deal with the challenges you are facing, using the tools you have but they aren't enough. Behaviors of escapal signal that you have lost your eay. Even though you are a wonderful preson, who has big problems, you need help to dig your way out. Here is how other young people describes what it is like to reach their limits:
- "I get testy, and my head is going to explode."

- " I get so fustrated, I feel like I'm going to punch someone." (Kristy,14)
- " I feel totally destroyed." (Joel, 12)
- " I want to leave and get away from everything and everyone." (Lynn,16)
- " I feel like my head is going to explode, and my head is pulsing with a mjaor headache." (John,15)
Severe behaviors of escape can include"
- Skipping school, or dropping out
- Running away from home
- Abusing alcohol or other drugs
- Compulsive relationship with food, sex, gambling, sports, computers, studying, etc.
- hurting other people
- hurting yourself or attempting suicide
Escapist behaviors make a mess of your life. If you are leaning toward any of the behaviors listed above, get help. Find someone you can talk to. I'm always opened for questions in my Dear Vanessa column, if you want to talk.
